Final Project

The Internet and digital communication has changed the way we communicate. In my opinion the greatest gift digital communication has given it's faithful followers and at times obsessed users like myself is accessibility. We are not speaking access in the conventional sense of the word, we are talking facebook, twitter, myspace, blogs, email, and digital smoke signals in a 2010 world. In addition at speeds the pony express would blush about. Anyone with a click of a button can reach hundreds, thousands or even millions of individuals within minutes or even seconds if you write fast enough. The Internet brings people together that otherwise would not.

By bringing people together the internet lessens the social, economic and political divide within communities. With a computer, and an internet connection you have equal access to the digital world. I want to utilize the power of the Internet and bring people together to be part of the change we want to see in the world. They are many people out there who also feel extremely powerless in the face of injustice and inequality, but the reality is that we don’t have to, let’s take action, big or small, it does not matter, let just act, together. I no longer want to stand on the sidelines and watch injustice and inequality occur ,turn away or just pretend its not occurring, many organizations leading social change plead to make people understand that even the smallest act of kindness can have a huge effect , writing a letter to support a cause, donating a dollar , or volunteering a few hours of your time.

I often find myself frustrated and sad at unfair and unjust realties communities face everyday but I feel powerless. I wish I knew where to start, where to go, or how to do it, the result? I do nothing. The BP oil crisis in the gulf continues to devastate coastal communities. Scientist state this crisis will have lasting effects on the environment for years to come. The educational systems and budgets cuts in our country are overwhelming. Gay and Lesbian rights are not in accordance to our countries belief system. The point is we must fight for equal rights for everyone gender or sexual preference should not be a deciding factor for equality in this country or any other. Health care and financial reforms are at a pivotal historical, moment in our country. It seems overwhelming, right? It isn’t and it does not have to be, lets take one step at at time, together, small act by small act, we have a responsibility, we must act, together.

Target Audience: Everyone who wants to part of change in the world, anyone who has ever wanted to fight against injustice but felt powerless to help, didn’t know where to start or where to go.

With this Video: I want to show how twitter, facebook and youtube can be instrumental in this mission of bringing people together for change in the world. I want to use music to appeal to people’s emotions in a way that music only can.
