Interestingly I was not really conscious I followed blogs( I did not sign up to follow them), and this led me to think to the unconscious influence the digital world has on me and and many others. The digital world is a much bigger influence in my life than I was originally aware of, but what does this mean for me as citizen of the world in a digital dependent age.
So far it has been more of a one way experience for me, I'm an observer, a follower in the digital world but I have not actively participated in this digital dialogue of the world, something I feel will dramatically change as a result of this class.
The blogs I frequent:
1- http://miraslist.blogspot.com/: this is a blog that posts a list of grants, fellowships, scholarships and money for the arts.
2- http://www.chasingthealpha.com/: blog on biotech companies, finance.
3-http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/: much more interesting way to get your business news.
4-http://frugaltraveler.blogs.nytimes.com/: a travel reporter for the NYT is on a journey from Brazil to NYC on a budget. As a Peruvian I follow this with great joy as he ventures through South America, last time I checked he was making his way through Bolivia.
5- http://paulocoelhoblog.com/: Author of the "Alchemist" one of my favorite writers who has a very interactive blog, posting on a regular basis and responding to fans.
